Igor Stravinsky was one of the most famous and accomplished classical composers of the modern era. The piece "The Rite of Spring" is one of several compositions Stravinsky was commissioned to write for a ballet entitled The Firebird. In the Disney movie Fantasia, The Rite of Spring accompanies a representation of the creation of the cosmos and the planet earth.
